The Client

Our client is a sixty year old publicly traded wellness and health management company that supplies science-based, clinically effective weight loss and weight management program and an award-winning digital subscription platform.  The company’s digital offerings are provided through apps and websites, workshops, consumer products, and various events. Over the last decade the business has gone through a significant shift to a digital subscription model and the major revenue segment is from a range of digital product subscriptions.  The company seeks to grow these diversified business lines more aggressively, all with the aim to expand its digital business model aimed at adding to and meeting the evolving needs of nearly 2.5M customers.

The Challenges

Integration with client’s tech team while undergoing a transformation from a CI/CD environment to a DevOps regime while the company was simultaneously undergoing a structural change – from a “bricks and mortar” business to a digital first strategy in a highly competitive environment.
Transitioning to open-source technologies and managing multiple instances of tech stack transformations and testing environments.
Re-orienting the tech stack once again during the COVID-19 pandemic to meet changing business demands and customer expectations, including shifting in-person meetings to an online “Zoom” environment.
Accelerated support during various technology stack transformations, including Migrating from multiple server environment to a cloud-based solution.

The Solutions

Our project managers, engineers, architects, developers and QA analysts are embedded and integrated into the clients project team to work as one functioning unit.
Our support included multiple teams, including a full set of re-shifting and re-platforming services to move data to the selected cloud computing storage provider.
Our team deployed a data lake, utilized Kubernetes and Kafka and moved all code to Node.JS, React.JS, and Java. Additionally, we transitioned the client from custom engineered CMS to Drupal.
All these migrations were executed with a focus on enhancing the client's core digital capabilities and aligning with their business objectives.
